About City

Singapore—known variously as the “Lion City” or “Garden City,” the latter for its many parks and tree-lined streets—has also been called “instant Asia” because it offers the tourist an expeditious glimpse into the cultures brought to it by immigrants from all parts of Asia. While predominantly Chinese, it has substantial minorities of Malays and Indians.

Singapore is much more than the total of its various attractions. It's always advancing, rethinking, and reconsidering itself, with individuals who are enthusiastic about making new conceivable outcomes.

It's the place foodies, voyagers, gatherers, activity searchers, culture shapers, and social gathering and new encounters are made each day.

Singapore is considered an expensive destination, especially when compared to other places in Southeast Asia. Singapore's efficient MRT train system is a great way to see parts of the city that are just beyond walking range. If you intend to move around frequently for several days, consider purchasing an EZ-Link card that can be tapped on readers at train stations and on buses. Food courts such as the famous Lau Pa Sat are great for sampling lots of local fare without spending a lot in sit-down restaurants.

Singapore & Dermatology

Almost all the hospitals of Singapore have a service dedicated to dermatology, in which we can find basic prestation’s – eczema, skin itch, alopecia, acne, more removal, – or specialization in the treatment of rarest skin diseases.

The dermatological area evolves in Singapore, specially at the KK Hospital, where a multidisciplinary service has been created for severe disorders in the same service, the patient can easily meet dermatologists, psychologists, allergists, social assistants, and more! The goal of such an initiative is to understand the factors of the disease in order to reinforce the treatment by working on several levels and not just on skin treatment.

History of Research

The dermatology department was developed in the early 1930s to 1991. Dermatology began in Singapore with the development of venereology.

Singapore’s first skin clinic started in 1945 at the Outram Road General Hospital Medical Department. The clinic was initially run by the British Military clinic. Professor Khoo Oon Teik was the first local physician in this skin clinic.
